Kia Ora,
I'm Jay. A fearless wāhine that hails from Ngati Hine (Far North) AND Ngāti Kahungunu (East Coast), but for majority of my life Tāmaki has been my home.
Motherhood has deeply shaped who I am and how I photograph. I’m a mum to three sons, two of whom are non-verbal and severely on the autism spectrum with ADHD. This lived experience has given me an innate understanding of children and how to read their cues, honour their boundaries, and create a calm, safe space where they can simply be themselves.
This translates into my photography in a powerful way. I work gently and allowing moments to unfold naturally rather than forcing them. I’m fearlessly passionate about capturing love and connection through emotive portraits, creating images that feel real, meaningful, and deeply human.

I’ve been in the photography industry for five years and my love for what I do has only grown deeper with time. I photograph love effortlessly and with true passion, focusing on connection, emotion, and the moments that feel natural. But there is another side to me as a photographer. My humorous side. I also lead with humour in hopes to evoke natural laughter for your photos.
